Who is responsible for your data
AI4E is owned and operated by Joakim Aunvik, Norway, which acts as the data controller for the personal information described below. Privacy questions can be sent through our contact page.
Information you provide
When you create an account, we process your email address and authentication information. We store recipe bookmarks tied to your account so they can sync across devices. Newsletter, contact, and recipe issue forms store the information you submit. If you purchase AI4E Pro, payments are handled by our Merchant of Record, Paddle.com, which collects payment and billing details under its own privacy policy and shares order information with us for invoicing and subscription management.
Information stored on your device
AI4E uses browser storage for preferences such as dark mode, locally generated recipes, installation state, and guest bookmarks. Signing in can merge eligible guest bookmarks into your account.
How information is used and why
We use information to perform our contract with you (accounts, bookmark syncing, subscriptions), based on legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service reliability and improvement), and with your consent where applicable (newsletter emails, which you can unsubscribe from at any time).
Who we share information with
Service providers that host the service, provide authentication, database, analytics, and email delivery process limited information on our behalf. Paddle.com, as Merchant of Record, processes payments, taxes, and subscription management. We may also involve professional advisers or share information with authorities where required by law.
How long we keep information
Account and bookmark data is kept while your account is active. Form submissions are kept as long as needed to respond and for record-keeping, then deleted or anonymized when no longer needed.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect personal information.
Your choices and rights
You can use most recipes without an account, clear local browser data, unsubscribe from emails, or ask about access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection regarding your personal information, and you can withdraw consent at any time. We respond to requests within one month. Depending on where you live, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
